• Day 1: Arrive in the town of Santa Marta, the rest of the day is free to settle in.
Overnight in Santa Marta.
• Day 2: First thing in the morning you journey to the village of Machete de Pelado (or Mamey), a trip of 2½ hours by road. It is from here you start your trek; a 4 hour walk to a finca (farmhouse) called ‘Donde Adán’ where you experience hammocks plus the use of the nearby river for a swim!

• Day 3: Today brings a 4 to 5 hour hike along the Buritaca river valley passing through Kogui villages along the way. Later that evening you set up camp beside said Buritaca river.

• Day 4: This is the day you reach the actual Lost City ruins, but after another 5 hour trek criss-crossing the Buritaca river and again with ample opportunity to meet the indigenous local Kogui people. At the entrance of the site you will have to ascend the ancient ramparts of the city ultimately reaching an onsite cabin where you spend the night.
Overnight in Ciudad Perdida cabin.
• Day 5: Here you spend the whole day at the site with our local guides highlighting the culture of the Tayrona people who constructed El Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City).
As you’re not allowed to spend any more than the day at the site, come the end of the day we make our way back to the Buritaca river to spend the night there.

• Day 6: Following the trail back from El Ciudad you trek back to Donde Adán where you spend the night whilst taking a detour to dine beforehand at the cabañas Mutanshi.

• Day 7: This the last day of the Ciudad trek where you journey back to Mamey with following transport back on to Santa Marta.
Overnight in Santa Marta.
• Days 8 - 10: These days are free to chill out in the pleasant town of Santa Marta with options to amble along the coast to the fishing village of Taganga or if you elect to visit the relatively nearby Tayrona National Park or just laze along the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean coast.

• Day 11: Transfer to the local airport for connecting flights back to the UK.
