• Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok. Settle into your hotel and then experience the food delights of the city whether in the many excellent restaurants or on the street (sounds cheap, but it is a very good way to eat there!). Overnight in Bangkok.
• Day 2: A full city tour of Bangkok taking in the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. Overnight in Bangkok.
• Day 3: Transfer to Kanchanaburi where you settle in and you're shown the infamous bridge over the river Kwai, also the Jeath War Museum and experience an ethnic Mon dance finally settling in to the Jungle Raft riverside lodge for the night. Overnight on the River Kwai.
• Day 4: Transfer to the Resotel and sample more of the River Kwai experience as you journey up river. Overnight on the River Kwai.
• Day 5: Transfer to Ayutthaya where you'll be taken to Wat Phra Mahathat, an overgrown temple that hints at Ayutthaya's gentle decay from it's golden age. The Wat Phra Sri Sanphet is also to be seen as are other temples making this a temple lover's paradise. In the evening you catch the overnight train to Chiang Mai, settle in and enjoy the ride! Overnight on the train.
• Day 6: After an overnight train ride to Chiang Mai, settle into your hotel and be taken for elephant rides along the river, perhaps have a massage, and also sample the wonderful food to be had. Overnight in Chiang Mai.
• Days 7 - 8: Trek into the nearby hills meeting the Momog people, where you'll be introduced to the local dances, white water rafting for the adventurous, a botanical garden and ox-cart racing for those wanting a change to the 2:30 at Haydock! Overnight in local Kmong abode.
• Day 9: Returning to Chiang Mai you are free to wander around and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere not forgetting to take in the famous night market at your leisure.
• Day 10: A flight back to Bangkok with a day spare to take a last look at the city and country, not forgetting that retail therapy kick!
• Day 11: Catch an international flight back to the UK.
