Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Brazil

This city is pure theatre and spectacle, nothing is missing, beaches, mountains, differing neighbourhoods offering sport, music, dress. Yours for the enjoyment

Are those ladies, no they’re geezers, and look, there’s the original Ronaldo after picking up his customary January injury!

Such familiar sights are seen every day along the numerous beaches fringing Rio de Janeiro. Ronnie Biggs had to keep an appointment in London, but please take his place and warm his bar stool down in Leblon, the most bucolic inner city neighbourhood I’ve ever seen

Miss World would look ordinary stepping along any street in this city, beauty abounds from the mixing of Portuguese, African and Amerindian blood, throw in the carnival, a near perfect climate, “boutique” mountains in the middle of the city, a floating Christ and maybe the most glamorous beaches in the world plus the every four year cycle football celebrations and you’ve practically found the new Jerusalem!

Halong Bay is approximately a 4 hour drive from Hanoi. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and quite rightly so as it is a natural wonder consisting of some 1600 islands in a series of bays, most uninhabited. Each of the islands is topped with jungle vegetation. The topography is one of limestone rocks of various sizes and shapes rising spectacularly out of the sea.
