The Altiplano Inca Trail

Special Tour 11 days Availability: 2022-07-30
bolivia Peru, Bolivia
Then as now Cuzcox is the heart of cultural life in this region and country Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and the highlands extending into Bolivia rival the pyramids of Egypt for shock and awe!

In many ways the border between Peru and Bolivia is a purely artificial one and the languages and cultures are pretty common, nowhere more so than in the context of the so called Inca Trail starting in Cuzco and ending up in La Paz

Cuzco is perched firmly in the Altiplano, the gateway to the Sacred Valley to the west containing the hallowed Machu Picchu and a base to press on towards the enchanting Lake Titicaca and finally the heights of La Paz

There are optional extras such as journeying on to the Salt Flats of Uyuni or even the silver and glamour of Potosí. In any case this is a highland adventure guaranteed to place you within the [literally] elevated cultures of the indigenous peoples of these two Andean neighbours and as ever don’t miss out on the Cumbia, Salsa, stories of football woe and the eternal cerveza fuelled intrigues!
